The Rural Health Link initiative focuses on ensuring that all West Virginians, regardless of where they live, can access the care they need. By partnering with local healthcare providers and transportation services, we are closing critical gaps in healthcare access. Future activities will involve expanding our network of transportation options, supporting providers in extending their reach into underserved areas, and developing programs that bring essential health services directly to rural communities.

Mountain State Care Force Initiative Updates

The Mountain State Care Force initiative is dedicated to growing and strengthening our state's healthcare workforce. We are focused on attracting, training, and retaining top clinical talent by funding new rural residency slots, creating career-ladder programs that offer pathways for advancement, and providing competitive incentives. Our goal is to build a robust and dedicated workforce that is equipped to meet the health needs of our communities for years to come.

The Smart Care Catalyst initiative works to empower rural healthcare providers by equipping them with the tools and support they need to deliver high-quality care. We are providing tech-enabled solutions to reduce administrative burdens and implementing new payment models that reward quality outcomes over quantity of services.
