Recent lab results received by the West Virginia Department of Health (DH) and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) show no detection of mineral oil in the Town of Wayne’s water plant or distribution system following the vandalism and transformer oil release at Appalachian Power’s East Lynn substation (please see the tables below).

The “Do Not Consume” order remains in place at this time.
The Town of Wayne is currently preparing for a systemwide residential flushing that could take place as soon as tomorrow. Residents are advised not to take any action with their residential water systems until receiving instructions from the town.
Water distribution sites for the Town of Wayne are as follows:
- Wayne Town Hall: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
- East Lynn Fire Department: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
- Old Save A Lot store at Dunrovin: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Water buffaloes are available at both distribution locations for residents to fill personal water jugs and containers.

- Wayne Charter House
- Wayne Walmart - Across from the Lawn and Garden section
